True Women’s Health, a midlife, menopause and sexual health wellness clinic, opened its doors to the Grand Rapids public.
True Women’s Health seeks to provide personalized, one-on-one care for women and provide support along their overall health journeys. The clinic, which opened June 15, is located at 2144 East Paris Ave. SE.
True Women’s Health patients can begin scheduling in-person appointments with founder and OB/GYN Diana Bitner, MD, and are currently able to conduct virtual visits through the True Women app. Bitner has nearly three decades of experience and has served thousands of women across West Michigan.
“At True, we focus on both short- and long-term overall health, getting to the core of what each individual woman wants for themselves. We ask our patients how they want to feel and look one year from now, five years from now, 10 years from now,” Bitner said. “We want to be a home for women to feel safe, comfortable and listened to. It is never too late to reconnect with personal goals before it becomes too late to age how you want.”
The leading causes of death in women are heart disease, cancer and chronic lower respiratory diseases, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Once a woman reaches the age of 50, the natural age of menopause, her risk for heart disease increases dramatically. Menopause also is one of the most significant factors for cancer in women over the age of 50.
“Timing is everything to ensure healthy aging. I found True at a time in my life where I was unsure and confused about the future of my health,” patient Linda Mohney said. “Dr. Bitner and her team have changed my life by providing the resources and tools necessary to create the life I want.”
