A membership in the true. Weight Journey program gives women access to our top-notch team. In addition to our board-certified weight loss physician, Dr. Celia Egan, our specialized staff includes a Physician Assistant and a Nationally Certified Menopause Practitioner, a Nutritional Coach/Chef and a Licensed Professional Counselor. They are ready to reinforce practical advice to overcome your barriers and recommend the best program for you.

Every weight journey will kick off with an hour-long weight consultation. At this appointment, your provider will discuss your personalized weight goals and help you decide a path for your weight journey.

Some patients will choose to start their weight journey with an intensive 12-week program with weekly visits and a very-low calorie diet (VLCD).

For others, monthly visits are designed to launch a transformative weight journey with nutritional optimization and weight management medication.

Some women may choose, a combination of the above. At true., there is no one-size-fits-all. Your weight journey is personalized to you and your lifestyle.

Guilt-Free, Sustainable Weight Loss

We strive to create an environment where patients feel safe to come to us with their struggles. Our program emphasizes guilt-free, empathetic weight loss assistance where no foods are considered “forbidden.” We understand your life is colorful and full of places to go and people to see. There is room for dining out in our program, and we work around your dietary preferences such as veganism, gluten-free, or paleo. Your life doesn’t have to revolve around what you’re allowed to eat.

After paying the $75/month membership fee, your appointments throughout the year will be billed to insurance.

Before your appointment, you should have completed your intake forms as well as described your habits and symptoms. The first appointment will cover your health and weight history, and focus on what goals you envision for yourself.

Very-low calorie diets (VLCDs) are meal replacement plans consisting of bars, shakes, and the like. It provides structure to a person’s diet and ensures minimal caloric intake for quick weight loss results. VLCDs are a great stepping stone to lead patients into a healthy lifestyle.

Patients with a BMI of 30 or greater, and patients with a BMI of 27 or greater with a weight-related condition such as diabetes meet the criteria for medication. Exceptions can occasionally be made. There are approximately a dozen medication options available in addition to hormone treatments, and prescriptions will be reviewed by our obesity medicine specialist.
