Meet Dr. Celia Egan

Meet Dr. Celia Egan, a dedicated advocate for women’s metabolic health and wellness. With a background in Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine, Dr. Egan brings a nonjudgmental holistic approach to medical weight management at true. Women’s Health®. Her journey from prestigious medical institutions to hands-on patient care reflects her unwavering commitment to empowering women through evidence-based strategies and compassionate support. From her specialized training in weight management and menopause to her advocacy for personalized preventive care, Dr. Egan is committed to guiding women toward optimal health and vitality.

Dr. Egan completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. After earning her medical degree from New York Medical College, she completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical Center- New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York, NY. Her post-graduate work started at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where she gained extensive knowledge in advanced inpatient oncologic care and survivorship care. After completing academic hospitalist work at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, IL, she joined WellessenceMD, focusing on obesity medicine, mindfulness, and longevity in primary care.

Dr. Egan is a medical advisory board member for the telemedicine company Hims/Hers, where she advises on the medical management of obesity.

When not engrossed in medicine, Dr. Egan loves spending her free time cooking, being active, and traveling with her husband, a local physician, and their three sons. They love exploring West Michigan, including trying new restaurants, learning to ski, and hanging out on the beach.

Dr. Egan is available as a subject matter expert to give presentations and keynote talks.
